The Transylvania school of botanic art & illustration was established in 2018 by James & Rachel de Candole to teach botanically-informed illustration of the plants growing in the Transylvanian Highlands of Romania.
The school is situated in the grounds of the de Candole's home in Copşa Mare, a farming village hidden in the middle of tens of thousands of hectares of old oak, beech & hornbeam forest, and exceptionally rich grasslands.
