The Transylvania school of botanic art & illustration was established in 2018 by James & Rachel de Candole to teach botanically-informed illustration of the plants growing in the grasslands of the Greater Târnava Valley in central Romania.
The school is situated in the grounds of the de Candole's home in Copşa Mare, a farming village hidden in the middle of tens of thousands of hectares of old oak, beech & hornbeam forest, and surrounded by these exceptionally rich grasslands.
The school is pleased to represent Romania in Botanical Art Worldwide.
